Iván Espinosa de los Monteros, spokesman in Congress and deputy secretary of Foreign Affairs of Vox, has stoked the fire, in this case criticizing not only politicians, but also journalists who have criticized the racism and xenophobia of the ultra party.
Other Vox leaders, such as the deputy Javier Ortega Smith, have spread a tweet from his party that charges against the Government relating the situation in Ceuta with the celebration of the International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, which took place this Monday.

The faculties of Medicine of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) in Albacete and Ciudad Real have been visited by three representatives of the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) and two evaluators of the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) in a working day of the project to obtain the International Quality Seal in the degree of Medicine.
ANECA started the pilot project with the five faculties of Medicine chosen throughout the country, including those of the UCLM in Albacete and Ciudad Real, which have received Dr. Farida Nurmanbetova, from the National University of Medicine of Kazakhstan; Professor Lois Nora, dean emeritus of the Northeast Ohio Medical University, in the United States; and Professor Mitra Amini, from the Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, in Iran. They also received two ANECA evaluators: Professor Juana Sendra, from the Polytechnic University of Madrid; and Professor Javier Rainer, from the International University of La Rioja.

En 2004, España fue testigo de algunas de las primeras manifestaciones masivas en Europa contra la ley de matrimonio entre personas del mismo sexo, que se aprobó poco después. La Iglesia católica participó activamente en la organización de las marchas y fue noticia cuando algunos de sus altos miembros aparecieron detrás de pancartas exigiendo que el matrimonio se reservara exclusivamente a las parejas heterosexuales. Con ello, la Iglesia demostró tanto su enorme poder de movilización de los sectores conservadores de la sociedad como su importante posición como actor político clave en el país. Sin embargo, según Cornejo y Pichardo Galán, para la mayoría de los españoles el catolicismo es «un asunto que preocupa poco en la vida cotidiana, en los valores o en la política… y los creyentes privilegian los derechos de sus amigos o familiares no heterosexuales sobre los mandatos de la jerarquía católica» (1).
Desde las movilizaciones de la Iglesia Católica contra diversas políticas progresistas introducidas por el ex presidente Zapatero en la década de 2000, la institución ha adoptado un papel menos prominente en su oposición a los derechos de las mujeres y del colectivo LGBTQ+. Sin embargo, algunos sectores de la Iglesia participan en iniciativas como las terapias de conversión «ilegales y clandestinas» para «curar» la homosexualidad, organizadas por el obispado de Alcalá (2).

The Government has proposed the judge of the Military Chamber of the Supreme Court, Clara Martínez de Careaga, to preside the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ), in the framework of the negotiations between the Socialist Group and the PP on the renewal of institutional positions.
The Executive has shown its preference for the Judiciary to be presided over by a woman and has also considered the names of the judges of the Contentious Chamber Pilar Teso and of the Criminal Chamber Ana Ferrer. If the Popular Party were to approve any of the PSOE’s proposals, she would be the first female president in the history of the institution.
The proposal of the Popular Party is the current president of the Constitutional Court, Juan José González Rivas, so Clara Martínez de Careaga is not currently ruled out to occupy the vice-presidency.
Martínez de Careaga García has been a member of the CGPJ since 2013 and chairs its Equality Commission. She is married to Cándido Conde-Pumpido, magistrate of the Constitutional Court and state attorney general during the government of José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero. In 2009, she became the first female judge of the Military Chamber of the Supreme Court and is an academic of the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation, member of the Permanent Commission on Gender and Access to Justice of the Ibero-American Judicial Summit.
